In summer 2004 Valentin „Knuffelbunt“ Alfery visited the „IMPULSTANZ“ weeks and discovered his passion for dance. At the same time he started acting at the theater group „daskunst“. Since then, his artistic activities have extended over national and international cultural life and creation. The cities of Salzburg, Klagenfurt and Vienna count as the local basis for the activities of his field, the performing arts. Valentin Alfery received his artist name „Knuffelbunt“ at the beginning of 2005, because of the similarity of the urban dance scene and the children´s toy from the 80s which has the same name. In addition to his numerous successes in urban dance, he became famous as the choreographer and main dancer of the piece „Out Of The Shadow“ by the Salzburg dance company „Nobulus“ in 2006 – 2009, which was also performed in London and San Francisco and even won various art awards . In 2006 he danced in the music video „Love Light“ by Robbie Williams. Since 2007 he has been involved in numerous contemporary dance productions (Silke Grabinger, Companie Smafu, etc.). During the years 2004 – 2009 he played in the „daskunst“ theater plays „Oma Frisst“, „Nomansland“, „Kultur mich am Arsch“ and „Experiment Mensch“. In 2009 the artist produced his first solo piece „Falling“ with a playing time of 60 min. which has been performed 14 times in Austria. Since 2010 he is a member of the Salzburg breakdance crew M.O.T. with which he successfully moves through the international battle scene. At the beginning of 2011 he founded the cultural association „Hungry Sharks“ e.V. with Dusana Baltic, in which he has been active since then. With this cultural association Valentin „Knuffelbunt“ Alfery launched his first major international project called StreetlifeMAD in 2011/2012, focusing on street art. Around 2013 the artist was committed to the production of Mozart’s „Magic Flute“ for the Bregenz Festival.
